Message reads Fatal error C:\Users\cash\AppData\Temp\7zSOB99\  "hpxsetup.exe"  "wStub"  "783700"

 

Driver software was installed but scan option  in the HP Solution Center stopped working so I removed the software then downloaded the HP software to reinstall but it continualy fails.

As I understand, you're unable to scan and it gives you an error message, 

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Are you able to make a copy? 

 

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue: 

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

 

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers: 

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Photosmart printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.
