Been trying to enable HP Smart app on the Local Network in the Privacy & Security in macOS Sequoia 15.3.1. But it doesn't show up to toggle it on.
I've tried almost everything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@jazzkoon347, Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board!
To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share your HP unit's product number with us?

Now, let's dive into the issue! Could you please let us know what steps you have performed? Also make sure that you are connected the devices to the same Wi-Fi network (make sure both are connected to 2.4ghz).
We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app. Tried to add the printer manually with the IP address with every protocol.
I get an error message when I try to add it through Air Print. I reset the printer network configuration.

Hey @jazzkoon347,
Thank you for the response
Let's go through a few more steps that might help get things working:
Check Firewall Settings:
macOS has a firewall that could be blocking network communication. Make sure the firewall is not restricting the HP Smart app or related services.
To check firewall settings:
Go to System Settings > Network > Firewall.
If the firewall is on, try temporarily turning it off to see if that resolves the issue.
Alternatively, you can click on Options and check for any apps being blocked by the firewall. Make sure HP Smart is allowed.
Enable Printer Sharing:
You mentioned you tried adding the printer manually with the IP address, but it could be helpful to ensure Printer Sharing is enabled. This ensures that the printer can be recognized on the local network.
Check Network Connectivity:
Ensure that both your Mac and printer are on the same network. Sometimes, even though they are both connected to the same router, they may be on different network segments (e.g., 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz networks), which can cause connectivity issues.
HP Smart App Permissions:
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security.
Scroll down to the Local Network section and make sure HP Smart is listed and checked.
If it's not listed, try opening the HP Smart app and connecting to the printer again. It should prompt macOS for permission.
Reset HP Smart Preferences:
Quit the HP Smart app.
Open Finder and press Cmd+Shift+G, then go to ~/Library/Preferences/.
Look for any files related to HP Smart and delete them.
Restart your Mac and try launching the HP Smart app again.
Try Adding Printer via System Settings:
Sometimes adding the printer through macOS system preferences rather than the HP Smart app can bypass the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
