HP Envy Photo 7155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After unplugin the power cord from the printer and the wall, and plugin it back the printer turns on and shows the HP logo on the screen and gets stuck there. The printer never finish the initial booting, therefore no device can recognize it and I have no access to the home panel to do anything while is stuck on that screen, image attached20230815_182306.jpg

Hi @Gonz1978,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Envy Photo 7155 being stuck on the initialization/ loading screen. Check if you can bypass this to access the home screen of the printer.

Let's perform a power drain:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove the USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

If this does not help, unplug the power cable and hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds and release it. Power on the printer and check.

Check for any jams inside the printer and make sure the carriage is moving freely.

I have a few recommendations

  • Remove the ink cartridges from the printer. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip. Wait at least 60 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

Update the printer firmware

  • Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your product
  • Click here to know different methods of updating the printer firmware.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

stuck on the same screen as mentioned before, after folowing this steps:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove the USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

I connected the cable straight to a wall outlet, and then to the back of the printer, also followed the next indications, and didnt help:

"If this does not help, unplug the power cable and hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds and release it. Power on the printer and check."

also removed cartridges with the printer turned on, while stuck on that initial screen, then disconected the power cord from rear and from the wall, and didnt help.

I also checked for any jams inside the printer and made sure the carriage is moving freely, and didnt help. I am still stuck on the initial screen as shown on the picture.

It didn't work; I followed each step, plus I did it all over, wrapping the whole printer in aluminum foil so nothing gets connected from the neighbor's house, then I repeated all the steps in a different address. Do you guys have an actual solution? rather than turn it on and off, unplug, and plug? Is it a common HP scam practice that renders a brand new printer useless by software from your side to increase sales through hardware upgrades? Essentially, the printer did an update and stopped working that same day. You guys might deserve a class action lawsuit at this point based on this specific issue in the HP Envy family of printers.
