Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After an HP software update about 3 weeks ago, my scanner software stopped functioning. Printing is fine. The HP Smart app asks me to sign in (never used to) and when I sign in I get error message: Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0100

I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiples times and also run the steps found at:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mobile-Printing-Cloud-Printing/Error-Code-UA-400-EB000U0100/td-p/79942...

Before I go buy a Canon has anyone got a solution that works?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on the Drivers tab.
  • Look for an HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.

And then reinstall the printer's full-featured drivers from the software and drivers page

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

After a lengthy conversation with HP Support and them taking over my laptop it turns out it's nothing to do with software installed or the device. The issue is with HP Smart as my account won't even login to their system through a browser. Waiting now on tech team to resolve.

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

  • As a temporary workaround, use HP Easy Start to set up the printer on your computer so you can print and scan files.
  • In Windows, go to 123.hp.com/setup, and then click Install HP Easy Start.
  • Open HP Easy Start, follow the prompts, and then select Full Software and Drivers as the software solution.
  • Once the setup completes, the printer is ready to use.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
