Hi My offjet pro 8210 gives off the error code C8190014, and I was not able to get rid of it after trying to power code off from both the wall and the printer for 60 s and turn it on. Error code stays there forever no matter how many times I tried and the ink carriage doesn’t move at all when I open it. I really need it to work. What do I do? Do I need to call a service person at home?

Since the carriage is physically stuck on one side, it may be mechanically jammed by debris or locked out of its home position.[ref_2]
- With the printer completely unplugged, open the ink cartridge access door.
- Look inside with a flashlight for any hidden torn paper scraps, dislodged plastics, or packing material.[ref_1, ref_2]
- Gently apply physical force: Carefully use your hand to push the ink carriage assembly toward the center of the printer track. Note: The carriage is already malfunctioning and locked; if it is jammed on its service station/latch, it requires manual assistance to break free.[ref_2]
- If you can slide it to the center, remove the ink cartridges, check the metal electrical contacts for ink buildup, wipe them down with a lint-free cloth, and securely re-seat them.[ref_1]
You cauld also try a firmware reflash
If you hear grinding noises when powering up then please take it in for service.
