Wow, I just manually deleted over 14,300 log files from the installer temp folder .   Really HP - that was in just 16 months!  One of the things we learn in kindergarten is to clean up after ourselves so I'm sure there is a way your softeware can do that.  What settings do I have to tweak so the temp file get cleaned up and excessive volumes of log files aren't hanging around.  Thanks

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have cleared over 14,300 log files from the installer temp folder on your PC and therefore you would like to software to do this.

Ideally, you have to manually clean the temp folder contents. This folder contains not only the printer files, but it also contains the temporary files for other applications that you use.

However, there is a third party application known as the CCleaner. You can schedule an automatic clean by setting up what you want to be cleaned in CCleaner first, then a scheduled task running the command "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe" /AUTO. This silently cleans the PC in the background.

Also, you may use the disk cleanup tool in Windows:

  1. To delete temporary files:
    1. Search for Disk cleanup from the taskbar and select it from the list of results.
    2. Under Files to delete, select the file types to get rid of. To get a description of the file type, select it.
    3. Select OK.
  2. If you need to free up more space, you can also delete system files:
    1. In Disk cleanup, select Clean up system files.
    2. Select the file types to get rid of. To get a description of the file type, select it.
    3. Select OK.

Hope this information helps. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
