HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw

Hello,

M280_Series_FW_Update-20220414.nativeofficefonts was initially autoinstalled.  "Resend upgrade" displayed on screen and now persists after repeatedly reinstalling upgrade (using all available HP online tools); printer is unusable. The first install was automatic and apparently failed.  Any help is appreciated.

I have been following issues with the M281 and I would like to know how you determined that it was 20220414 that was installed? When exactly did the issue start, when did you notice the firmware update had happened. I ask because if you are basing it on the current firmware posted on the website, that version replaced a defective firmware revision 20221010.

Hello, the issue started on Oct 28, 2022 after the update was autoinstalled.  I've checked the firmware version installed in the printer and it states 20220414.

I have the exact same issue. I have tried re-installing this firmware update several times, it does not fix the problem. It's absolutely maddening that HP could design a font upgrade that when unsuccessful, shuts down all functionality of the machine.

I've found no solution and have not received any assistance from a human at HP.  Has anyone had any luck resolving?

Same thing happen to my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw Printer... HP Fix the problem!

I've got the same issue, went through all of the checks, nothing works.

Thankfully I got it resolved. I have an M281 FDW. Got the same resend upgrade message. Was able to **bleep**. Had to pay $19 for a one time HP support call...but they answered after about 10 min wait and the tech knew exactly what to do. Took control of my computer via browser connection to download a new firmware to a USB drive (make sure you have one handy) then you plug that drive into your USB port on your printer. The printer detects it and asks you what you want to do. You select Print. Then you select the file you just downloaded and it automatically fixed the firmware. Then I had to restart the printer to reconnect to my wifi.

 

All good now. Hope this helps everyone.
