Can someone direct me to the link to download the old firmware 20200612 for iOS? We just updated our Mac to version 11.1 Big Sur. We have the ongoing Error 79 that started when the firmware was updated to 20201021. Thanks!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  1. Turn the printer power off, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn the power on and wait for it to initialize.

  2. If you are using a surge protector, remove it and plug the printer directly into the wall socket. Turn the printer power on.

  3. If the message persists, disconnect any network or USB cables and power cycle. If the printer returns to Ready, check the firmware version and update if a newer version is available.

For instructions on updating the firmware, go to HP LaserJet Pro - Update the printer firmware.

NOTE: The firmware version can be found by printing a Configuration Report from the control panel of your printer. Visit the HP Customer Support Drivers page to find the latest firmware version available.
  4. If the error is intermittent, attempt to isolate the issue to something specific in your environment.

    1. Delete all print jobs from all computers connected to the printer and send a simple test print job.

  5. If the issue persists, remove any installed DIMMS and retest.

    1. If the printer prints fine, install a DIMM that the product supports.

To get the answer to this question, firmware cannot be downgraded or rollback once it's upgraded.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
