HP DeskJet 3637 All-in-One Printer

I am trying to set up my printer to a new modem and it asks me for a password and I don't remember it.  I don't have the software or box.

Hi @ ChickyB,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've forgotten the Wi-Fi password for your HP DeskJet 3637 All-In-One Printer and don't have the software or box, you can still try the following steps to connect it to a new Wi-Fi network:

  1. Reset the Network Settings:
    • On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Wireless or Network settings.
    • Look for an option to reset the network settings or restore defaults. This will often clear any saved Wi-Fi information, including passwords.
    • After resetting, follow the on-screen instructions to set up the wireless connection again.
  2. WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):
    • If your new modem supports WPS, you can use this feature to connect your printer without entering the Wi-Fi password.
    • Press the WPS button on your modem/router.
    • On your printer, find the WPS button or option in the wireless settings. Press it, and it should connect to the Wi-Fi network automatically.
  3. Direct USB Connection:
    • If the wireless setup is proving challenging, you can connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
    • Install the necessary printer drivers on your computer. You might need to download them from the HP website.
    • During the installation process, you should have the option to connect the printer using a USB cable. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. HP Smart App:
    • Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or tablet.
    • Follow the app's instructions to set up the printer. It might provide an option to connect the printer to Wi-Fi.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
