Hi
I was away for a couple of weeks and when I returned my HP 5520 would not print. Trouble shooting in devices and printers did not fix it. Printer install wizard confirmed current full HP S/W and drivers installed. Install wizard produced a test scan but not a test print.
Print and scan doctor also identies printer OK but cannot produce a test print, although it did produce an INTERNAL test page. Print and scan identified a problem with the S/W that "cannot be fixed without uninstalling and reinstalling" the software.
Reinstalled software as suggested but it has stalled on "checking network envirionment" so reinstal has not completed properly i guess. Now I seem to be worse off than I was before.
I have checked print spooler and its running ok.
I have checked windows udates and they are all up to date
I have even tried system restore in desperation but that didnt change anything either.
I have tried using just USB to connect - no effect
I have trued using wireless only to connect - no effect
I am running windows 10 on HP pavilion laptop.
I'm running out of ideas as to how I can get printing again, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks

This is the solution, for me at least. I was convinced there had to be a windows related solution to this but despite several attempts I could get no answers so in the end I reset the PC and it took about an hour but when it was done everything snapped back into life and worked as before. Bit of a pain having to reinstall some software but it was worth it.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP forum. We'd like to suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the printer software.
Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:
1. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)
2. Uninstall the software in your computer
3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the post - I followed these instructions and the first time the install hung up on the "checking network environment" stage so I tried it again after an hour or so and the software extracted as normal but did not go beyond that stage, so nothing has changed and I still have no printer.
Thanks anyway. If you have any new ideas pl let me know......
