hp 8220

I have this hp 8220 printer that just cant update for some reason. it systematically fails when the download reaches 100%. Also I have been resetting the printer entirely (and selecting don't update automatically) however that option always comes back and cannot be changed. Tried this over several days, directly from the printer or using HP Smart

 

Such bad programming

What a complete example of programmed obsolence.

 

i called hp support and was told that yes you cannot disable automatic upgrades even if you reinstall the printer and that if i meed help i need to

pay for support given its our of warranty. What a complete company of scammers
