How do you add a HP printer ICON to the Windows 11 desktop ?

To add an HP printer icon to the Windows 11 desktop, follow these steps:

Create a Shortcut from Control Panel

Open Control Panel

• Press Win + R, type control, and press Enter.

Go to Devices and Printers

• In the Control Panel, select View devices and printers (under Hardware and Sound).

Find Your Printer

• Locate HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277 PCL 6.

Create a Shortcut

• Right-click on your printer and select Create shortcut.
• Windows will prompt that it cannot create a shortcut here; select Yes to place it on the desktop

Sorry to hear that you still have trouble getting the printer shortcut on the Pc, please let me know when you try to create a shortcut, do you get any error message, if so, please share so I can try to check and get all the help

To whom all of this concerns,

I have worked it all out and now have a ICON on my Desktop.

I was able to remove the All in one Color Laser printer and re-install it and now have an ICON on my desktop.

I am replacing an old computer, on that computer desktop, I have an shortcut that opens an app that operates the Scanner on my M277 (and only the scanner function).  The app allows me to choose among many options for scanning as well as the location to save the scan.  This app has nothing to do with the print function. 

I would like to install this same app/shortcut on my new computer but can find no instructions for it.

(It may have been installed from the CD I no longer have, the shortcut has a stylized picture of a scanner with the lid open).

Can someone please tell me how I load this on my new computer?
