When you installed the firmware, can you provide the exact steps that did not work? What did you see on the screen after the install was done? The more detail you can provide, the more we can troubleshoot.
Also confirm what the screen on your printer was showing when you clicked the install button for the firmware.

How do we get an HP person to answer questions and help? I've asked several questions regarding the same problem and no one has answered. Since my printer is no longer under warranty, I can't even call HP. Our printer has been down for 3 days because of the firmware issue. I tried the fix in this thread, but now my printer continually has a paper jam notice... and no one has come up with any tips to fix that... We use this printer for our business. Any help at all would be appreciated.

All,
When replying, rather than indicating that you have the same problem, I recommend taking a few minutes to describe what the issue you're experiencing and what steps have you taken to resolve already. Since there are at least 2 issues identified in this chain, it's difficult to know which one people are referring to.
If you're getting the "Resend Upgrade" error, the resolution that worked for most people is to apply the October patch. You can find the link here:
https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/FW_CPE_Consumer/M280_M281/M280_Series_FW_Update-202210.
In some cases, the fix may not 'take' and the printer shows a Firmware Datecode of April instead of October. If that happens, I was able to resolve it by a) re-downloading the patch b) making sure the "Resend Upgrade" message was NOT displaying on the screen when I re-applyed the firmware c) re-applied the Oct firmware
The second issue that folks who have applied the patch have noticed is that one of the rollers is jamming. We could use some additional information on this error such as what the screen displays, what steps have been taken to troubleshoot, and whether or not rolling back to a previous version of the firmware fixes the problem or not (without re-introducing the Resend Upgrade issue).
