Is there a way I can get this to print legal size paper? I can't find a setting in Printer Properties that permits it.

Hi @brunowe,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you would like to print on legal size.

HP DeskJet 3700 Printer supports legal size, you may refer to the printer specifications to know the supported paper size and type

To set the document's page size, choose File > Page Setup, then click the Paperize menu and choose a size. In most apps, the Paper Size menu has a Manage Custom Sizes option. If you choose this option, Create a custom paper size for printing

Enter a custom paper size in the printer server properties in Windows Devices and Printers.

  1. Search for and open Control Panel, and then click View devices and printers.

  2. Click the icon for your printer, and then click Print server properties.

    NOTE:

If Print server properties is not available, right-click an empty area in the Printers window, select Run as administrator from the drop-down menu, and then select Server Properties.

  3. If the User Account Control window displays, click Continue.

  4. On the Forms tab, select the Create a new form check box, and then type a new, unique name for the custom paper size in the Form name box.

  5. Select Metric or English as the measurement unit, and then enter Width and Height dimensions. Keep the margin settings at 0.00.

  6. Click Save Form, and then confirm the paper is in the Forms on list. If your printer does not support the custom size, it does not display in the list. Check the printer specifications for supported paper sizes.

  7. Click OK or Close.

  8. Load the custom paper into the main tray, and then slide the paper width guides in until they rest against the edges of the paper.

  9. Open the item you want to print, click File, and then click Print.

  10. In the Print window, click Preferences, Properties, or Printer Properties.

  11. Click the Paper/Quality tab, and then select the paper from the Paper Size menu, or click Advanced to find and select the paper.

You may refer to -Create Custom Paper Sizes

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi.  I did already have "Legal" in the pull-down, but it still wasn't showing up as an option in the Printer command in the document.  However, I found that I had a driver update today that wasn't available yesterday.  I downloaded that and Legal is now coming up as an option and I was able to print the document.  I don't know if your steps are connected to that but I do appreciate the assistance.

TY
