Hello,

I'm trying to connect the printer to my wi-fi. Although I'm doing everything right, it just won't connect, so I decided to make a firmware update.

Currently, the firmware is labeled CBP1FN1437AR and the one available from the official site is labeled 2023B, with fixes to the network component (nice).

However, when I run the firmware installer I get the printer as "Not applicable". Any idea for how to update/proceed?

Many thanks!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to update the printer firmware, I am glad to assist you.

I suggest you connect the printer using a USB cable to successfully update the printer firmware.

Hello Sandytechy20,

Unfortunately, I followed the steps but the printed still appears as Not Applicable for a firmware update. However, the connectivity issue comes from my router's security; the printer would not connect on a WPA3 encrypted Wi-Fi that has the forced option to:

Enable support for protected logins by wireless devices (PMF)

So, people that use Fritz!Box products should double check their Wi-Fi security. If you go for the WPA2 encryption, the printer will connect just fine.

Thanks,

Ioannis
