HP Deskjet 2630 HPCC3496
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer purchased 1 month ago. Worked perfectly until a few days ago, when it stopped printing from the Windows PC. Print jobs go into the print queue, but no further. Possibly related to a windows and/or Dell update.

I can still print using HP Smart on my iPad and Android phone.

Ran HP scan and print doctor 5.2.1 which Identified and "fixed" print queue problem, then suggested software problem.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the printer software 3 times, with no luck.

Any help would be much appreciated.

@stewartf, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to automatically diagnose and resolve printer hardware and connection issues.

Read and respond to the screens in HP Print and Scan doctor to automatically find and fix any printer problem. After you have finished using HP Print and Scan Doctor, try to print. If the print job becomes stuck again, continue to the next step.

Delete job files and restart

Reset your printing environment, delete print job files manually, and then restart both the computer and the printer.

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button and then unplug the printer power cord from the power outlet.

  2. In Windows, search for and open Services.

  3. In the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and then select Stop.

Service window the Print Spooler service selected from the Name list and the Stop selection called out.

  4. After the service stops, close the Services window.

  5. In Windows, search for and open C:Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS

  6. Delete all files in the PRINTERS folder.

  7. Shut down your computer.

  8. Connect the printer power cord to the power outlet, and then turn on the printer.

  9. Turn on the computer, and then try to print.

Thanks. In fact I solved the problem myself.

I had removed the colour cartridge to save ink. When I re-inserted it everything worked fine! I've now taken out the colour cartridge again, and everything still works!!
