The HP East Start .zip file will not open on my iMac with OS 10.14.5 When I try to run the firmware update setup program, it hangs at the "select/detect device" screen even though the correct device is detected. Connected through my USB cable. Printer failed to self calibrate twice. So I went through manual setup using small screen on printer and connected to wireless network. Self calibration worked first time. firmware update worked first time. still not sure if I have the correct printer driver or not. Any help appreciated. The software HP wrote for the iMac is really buggy and they never should have released it.

So I download the file. Open the downloads box in upper right and there is a message below the file name: Can Not Move File. Open Finder and double click on the file per the instructions you sent and get a error message that Safari can not open the file, Safari can’t open the file “HP Easy Start.app” because the file is still being downloaded. It has been an hour or more since the file finished downloading. Do you have a suggestion here? If I select Open With... and then look for the Archive application, it is not listed as a choice, even if I enable all apps on my iMac.

I called HP Printer Support and told them about this issue. They setup a way to look at my screen and observed the behavior I described and then promised to write it up and send to the development team. After that, we tried the same with Chrome browser (was using Safari before) and with Chrome, there was no issue, the download worked just fine. Apparently HP does not test very much with Safari and the first thing they try is to use Chrome or Explorer or a browser besides Safari. I think the only reason they took the time to observe the issue and tell me that they would write it up is because I shared with them that I use to work for HP. Anyway, I am pretty surprised no one else on this forum has run into this issue, perhaps it is new after the most recent update, who knows. Best to you all. John
