Hi@schmiandy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing set up issues with the HP ENVY 5646 E-All-In-One Printer.

I have a few recommendations

  • Check this link to see if your printer is supported in Windows 11, as well as the compatible software and drivers available to download.
  • In Windows, search for and open Device Manager. In the list of devices, expand the component that you want to update. Right-click the device, and then click Update driver. Click Search automatically for drivers, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

How to Add a Printer to Windows 11 Automatically

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Navigate to Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  3. Select Add device, wait a few seconds for Windows to locate the printer, and then select Add device next to the one you want to install.
  4. Wait while the printer gets installed.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Ok

I was able to install the printer trough windows add printer.

What i am deliterably missing is the scanning feature i had before especially the option to scan to PDF and to add several pages to one file.

Is there any chance HP will modify the drivers for my 5646 or does HP just want that i buy a new printer??

Throwing away a perfect functioning printer is not really environmental protection like!!

Hi@schmiandy,

Thank you for responding, I appreciate your time and effort.

I apologize for the Inconvenience. Windows 11 is based on the solid foundations of Windows 10 software, so your current printer(s) should all work as normal. Any compatibility issues will depend on your PC hardware rather than printer.

Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance.

You state that it depends on hardware of my pc .

The printer 5646 is not listed as compatible to windows 11

But on the other hand you recommend to update to latest firmware to resolve problem

Can you indicate me which firmware is the latest one for envy 5646 and where i can find it?

Just to try if i can make it to work

thanks in advance
