I'm one of the legion of MacBook owners who got hit with those annoying warnings that HP framework software would damage my computer. I fixed that problem with HP Easy-Start. I removed all installed printer drivers and started fresh with the latest software. During the device setup, Easy-Start offered to install the printer software AND software for HP EasyScan. Ah-hah! I thought—HP has finally made EasyScan compatible with macOS Catalina! So I let Easy-Start install both packages.
To my dismay, EasyScan failed to work. Did I perhaps miss something, or is there still no love between my MacBook and HP EasyScan?

@Caesar3, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
macOS includes a technology called Gatekeeper, that's designed to ensure that only trusted software runs on your Mac. For more info, refer to this document - Safely open apps on your Mac
To resolve this issue, follow the below steps:
Update HP Easy Scan: Open HP Easy Scan. On the upper bar, click HP Easy Scan, click Check for Updates, and then install any available updates.
Check for any software updates on MAC
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Alternatively, you may reinstall the printer using AirPrint driver if you are not able to print:
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
Note: Use Bonjour multifucntion.
6.) Try to print.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello, Kumar0307—I took your advice and installed EasyScan again. (I'd deleted it after my most recent unsuccessful attempt.) I'm happy to report that EasyScan worked just fine. I also followed your suggestion to check for updates. I now have the latest software version that supports macOS 10.15. I expect to update to that new OS soon, and I'm glad to know I can expect to use EasyScan.
I'm quite familiar with Gatekeeper, and I had no trouble with the installation. Thanks!
By the way, I got notice of your private message regarding a separate issue I'd written about months ago (Re: What happened to the HP Social Media Snapshot app?) I have not been able to respond because of login issues. Long story, but I have more than one username. I'll keep trying.

@ctw975, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Kindly elaborate on the issue.
What model printer are you using?
Are you using a MAC or a Win PC?
Keep me posted.
