Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

I have just acquired an HP Laser Jet Pro MFP 479. I am trying to install the drives so it works well. It keeps failing on my MAC computers with the error messages in the subject line. I could install some  printer functionality with the HP Smart app, but this certainly does not allow me to scan from the printer device and so forth. It only works better with a Windows computer. This is incredibly frustrating. Any solutions? thank you
