Hello,
I have a HP Envy 4500 printer. I recently purchased a new Win11 PC, which is running the most current version of Win11 (10.0.22631), Build 22631. I installed all of the most recent HP software, driver, etc. for the printer on my new PC. I also confirmed that the printer's firmware is up to date. The printer is wirelessly connected to my WIFI network and used as a network printer.
The problem: I am able to print normally from my old computer (Win10), phones, and other devices on my WIFI normally. With the new Win11 computer, the scanner works, and I'm also able to print normally from Microsoft word. But when I attempt to print PDF files, the entire file doesn't print. Either part of the page is cut off, the job prints only 1 page of a 2 page job, the job errors in the printer queue in Win11, or it prints incorrectly one time, and then correctly a second time, despite only selecting to print Quantity 1x. The problem is consistent when trying to print different PDF files, and also consistent whether attempting to print PDF files from Adobe Acrobat, a browser, or other software on the Win11 machine. I printed the same exact PDF files normally from my other devices to the same printer. In other words, it's not the PDF file, printer, or software the PDF files are printed from that's the issue. It seems to be related to the combination of Win11 OS and PDF files.
I've tried the following, each several times unsuccessfully:
1. Restart all devices (printer and computer)
2. Reinstall the HP software and drivers
3. Reset the printer spooling, delete temp files
4. Hard-wired the printer directly into the Win11 machine and bypassing the WIFI printing
In summary, the same PDF files printed from a Win10 machine print normally, but do not print from the Win11 machine, despite attempts to print from 3 different PDF readers. Microsoft Word files print normally from the Win11 machine. It seems like some kind of HP software/driver bug that Win11 doesn't play well with. Any advice is appreciated.
