HP ENVY 5530

My printer had been running fine and was connected to my wireless network.  It then disconnected and I cannot get it to reconnect.  I have ensured that I have the correct password. It prints out an error message that MAC address filtering may be enabled on my wireless router and that I need to add the MAC address to my printer to the list of permitted devices for my wireless router, however when I called Mediacom (my internet and router provider) they state that they do not have MAC address filtering enabled on my router.  I have reset the printer to factory settings, reinstalled the driver from the hp website including reinstalling the initial set up cd and it still will not connect to my wireless network. Any ideas???

What happens when you run the Wireless Setup Wizard from the front panel?  Does the printer connect now?

No, it tries to connect for a minute or 2, but then still nothing. The printout that the printer gives is the message about the MAC filter, but I checked and the filter is not on...

Reset the printer back to Network Defaults via the front panel.  Try to connect again.

I have also tried that several times and it still will not connect.

temporarily remove all security off your SSID in the router.  Now try to connect to your unsecured SSID.  Are you successful?

If yes go back and add WPA2-AES with password and try again.

I have tried this now as well, and it is still not working. It states that it cannot connect to the network. It will find my wireless router, however when I put in a password and attempts to connect to the router, still nothing.

Well this is not good.  Suggest you hard reset the router and reconfigure it back to your settings and attempt to connect the printer again.

I am having the exact same problems with my envy 5530.  It was connected to the internet fine, all other devices in the household work but it. I also have Mediascum. I don't believe that is the issue but it may be.... it does see the router though but same issue, I put the password in and it doesn't connect.

Let’s download and run the HP Print and Scan doctor, what does this say?
