Envy 7855
Microsoft Windows 11

I upgrade my OS to Windows 11 and then my HP Envy 7855 printer all in one was not recognized.  Uninstalled driver and did the steps to plug the printer back in.  Printer would work, BUT when I went to do a two-sided print a message pops up with instructions to print on both sides of the paper instead of automatically doing it.  I have never seen this message ever pop up before.  It just always automatically printed both sides when marked to do so.  What can I try to resolve this issue?

@George_, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print a 2-sided document automatically. Are you using the HP Smart app to print?

Check for any pending Windows updates.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

You may try reinstalling the HP Smart app and check if that helps.

For more info, refer to - Print on both sides of the paper with an HP printer

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
