HP Envy Photo 7830
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I just bought the HP Envy Photo 7830. I installed it from the Android app and printing works from the app. I tried installing it on my Windows 10 pc's but it can't find the printer. I have tried on 3 seperate pc's. I can ping the printer on Hostname and IP Address. I can scan from the printer interface to the pc. I downloaded HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.1 and the printer is found instantly. the test stops on 'Apparaatstatus' I can print a testpage form HP Doctor. The printer is connected by ethernet cable. Has anyone an idea how to proceed????  Thanks, Ronald

I found the problem. I uninstalled all the software from the W10 pc's, then rebooted and reinstalled choosing not to install the app but just the basic software. (the choice is a bit hidden) Now it works fine.

 

I never understood why printer firms want you to install all the crap software when realy all you need is just the drivers for printing and scanning....

Firmware updates are released to fix the bugs or glitches in the printers or software which consumers come across and report it.
