From one day to another the printer doesn't print anymore. I updated everything: the printer software, Windows is updated, I just use the scan doctor and try to print a test page, but even that doesn't work. All the checks were okay......And the answer was only that the printer has a serious problem. Yes, I know, but how can I make it work again? I really don't know it after many hours on my computer.....no solution. The printer is only a half year old and I'm really disappointed about it. This is not my first problem with it, but it is the biggest one. All the others I had fixed, but this one.....

@Angeliki1,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the printer was working fine?
  • Are you getting any error message when you print?
  • Are you able to make a copy?
  • How is the printer connected to the computer? (USB/Wireless)
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

While I wait for the answers, I recommend you follow the below steps and check whether the issue is resolved.

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

2. Remove USB cable, if present.

3. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

4. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

5. Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If you continue to face the issue, follow the below steps.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

15.) Connect the USB cable ONLY when prompted and follow the on-screen instructions.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!

I have tried everything suggested below,  uninstalled, reinstalled twice, removed device with device manager, deleted all HP folders, unplugged power cable, used HP diagnostics, Windows diagnostics, etc... but my HP 6230 is still not printing. I received  error message configuration problem 0x80004005. My PC says the printer is working fine and lists the printer as the standard printer but when I hit ctrl p to print a test page from screen, Microsoft printer appears as standard printer although I have reset it. I don't have a USB cable for the printer.  When I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 I had the same problem with the printer but was able to correct it and can now print through Wifi. I can't remember exactly what I did but I think it was similar procedure and had to enter a PIN. Any additional suggestions?
