Hi @Peggy114,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here are some troubleshooting steps to try for your HP Envy 4520 printer.

  • Check Connections: Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless printer, make sure it's connected to the same network as your computer.
  • Restart Devices: Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Restart your computer as well.
  • Check for Errors: Look at the printer's display for any error messages or warnings. Address any issues indicated.
  • Printer Status: Make sure the printer has enough paper and ink or toner. Check for any paper jams or obstructions in the printer.
  • Update or Reinstall Drivers: Go to the HP website, find the latest drivers for your HP Envy 4520, and install them. Sometimes reinstalling the drivers can fix issues.
  • Set as Default Printer: Ensure that your HP Envy 4520 is set as the default printer on your computer.
  • Run Printer Troubleshooter: If you're using Windows, you can run the built-in printer troubleshooter. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and choose "Manage" > "Run the troubleshooter."
  • Check Printer Queue: Sometimes print jobs get stuck in the queue. Go to Devices and Printers, select your printer, and clear any pending print jobs.
  • Printer Firmware: Ensure that the printer's firmware is up to date. Check the HP website for any firmware updates for your model.
  • Factory Reset: If nothing else works, you might consider performing a factory reset on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
