Hi @Broker1947,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Encryption Credentials Expired" message on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw indicates that the printer's security settings need to be updated to re-establish a secure connection with your Mac. Here’s how to resolve this issue:

Steps to Resolve "Encryption Credentials Expired"

Check Printer’s Network Settings

  • Access Printer Control Panel: Use the printer's control panel to navigate to the network settings.
  • Restore Network Defaults: This option can often resolve credential issues. Note that you will need to reconfigure your network settings afterward.

Reconfigure Wireless Settings

  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
    • On the printer's control panel, go to Network Setup and select Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Choose your Wi-Fi network and re-enter the Wi-Fi password if prompted.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check this from the printer’s control panel or via the HP support website. Updating the firmware can often resolve connectivity and security issues.

Remove and Re-add Printer on Mac

  • On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and click the - button to remove it.
  • Click the + button to re-add the printer. This can refresh the connection and allow you to enter new encryption credentials.

Reset Printing System (if necessary)

  • If the issue persists, you can reset the printing system:
    1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Right-click (or Control-click) in the list of printers and select Reset printing system.
    3. Confirm the reset and then re-add your printer.

Enter New Encryption Credentials (if prompted)

  • If prompted to enter new credentials during any of the above steps, enter your Wi-Fi password or any specific security keys required for your network

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
