HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 ** firmware update** CANNOT USE NON-HP INK

After unknowingly allowing my printer to update to new firmware it has rendered my printer worthless to anything but genuinely overpriced and overrated hp branded ink.   I have 8 non-hp cartridges that have  been rendered worthless by big money HP.   Nowhere on the box when I purchased the printer did it say it only uses hp branded ink.   But now that is what i'm left with.   I will pay more for the ink than the stupid printer costs.   HP you screwed your loyal customers yet again.   Isn't it enough to have the market on printers, why do you need the ink market as well?   What's next, only HP branded paper will work in it????    I would like for HP to fix the situation by putting out a patch to allowing non-hp ink to work once again on this printer I purchased only 2 months ago.    Shame on you HP!!!!
