Just bought this printer. So far so good. However, it appears to start up and cycle through as if its going to start printing something almost every hour. This goes on for 15-30 seconds and then it stops. Screen remains dark. Its more annoying than anything and would love to get it to stop if this isn't normally functional behavior.

@SeanNDG, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand the printer makes noise every hour. It is common for the printer to run maintenance but not this frequently. Let us try these steps:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your computer.

Reinsert the ink cartridges. Monitor the printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
