I have just taken the product out of the box. Two issues have arisen immediately:
1. I am getting a paper jam error. There is no paper in the printer.
2. The process to fix (or rule out) a paper jam involves opening the cartridge door. The door is stuck fast on the left hand side. It feels like it will break if I force it open.
In case it makes any difference, I have not yet got to the point of inserting the ink cartridges.
Any suggestions??
Many thanks

Ok, I have resolved the second problem. The cartridge door only opens when the top lid is also closed (not clear at all).
The first problem persists, though. I cannot make any progress with the setup due to a paper jam error. There is no paper in the printer (never was) and I have not yet installed the ink cartridges.
Any suggestions? Very frustrating. Any help appreciated...or maybe even an acknowledgement from HP support?!!

Me again! The previous error somehow resolved itself - I was able to add the ink cartridges and the display acknowledged that they were genuine HP ink cartridges. Then it asked me to add paper and started to print the alignment page. Aaaaaaaaand that's as far as I got this time. Alignment page print job has been hanging for several minutes with no progress.
What is the matter with this garbage product?? Will report back in 5 minutes with the next complete showstopper of a problem.

Hey there, everyone. Welp, it looks like the printer is now ready to start being a printer. A hard reset was the tough love that this wayward child needed. Only took around 3 hours of trial and error to get to this point, with no apparent reasons whatsoever for the seemingly endless series of problems. Let's hope we are at the starting line now.
