I have a similar problem to Pavlenko in that after a microsoft glitch I can't get my HP PSC 750 to work anymore. My ASUS tablet that runs windows 10 does allow the printer to work with port DOT4.001.

I followed your advice and tried the Deskjet 990C and 5550 drivers and also the DOT4 port.  When I I nominate the DOT4 port there is no document appearing in the print queue box. When I nominate LTP Port 1 I get an error message can't print. I don't see a USB port appearing in the list of available ports.

Any more ideas?

The PSC 750 is not compatible with drivers such as the Deskjet 990c.  I would suggest using the built-in driver from Windows Update, the PSC 750 driver should work.  In the thread here a user suggests the PSC 950 driver (also through Windows Update) works better for this printer.

The DOT4 port will only show up if the printer is attached to your computer.

Well I managed to solve the problem. The drivers on my tablet which now runs Windows 10 has drivers dating back to when I bought it as a Windows 7. So I went looking for Windows 7 drivers and found DriverDoc that found all the drivers for the multifunction PSC 750 and updated a bunch of other drivers. So now all good.
Would have preferred a no cost solution but for AUD40 I don't mind.
Hope this helps someone else

The no cost solution (and likely the source for the driver you are now using) is the driver installed through Windows Update as described above....

The Windows update option for some reason didn't work. Even Microsoft tech support couldn't find the right drivers which date back to 2012. HP did advise that they don't support the model of printer as it is 15 years old

The problem has been solved

Here is the solution, go here:

http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/search.aspx?q=hp+psc+750+%22windows+8%22

Choose the driver for your operating system, for me worked the one with that file name:

4188_bacd1413e93b4a6362d9a2ca653c869f1c02f6f7.cab

unzip using 7zip

click install on .inf

turn on your printer and then will get recognised.
