An old archive topic is here:
I have just few tips for anyone, who (like me) still uses this old horse Photosmart 7550 in 2023.
Windows 10 has been changed since that post, so model 7520 is absent in the list now.
Therefore the installation instruction also is changed:
- First of all you need to click "Download driver from Windows Update". Embedded list contains just few printers, so you'll can't find appropriate one. Therefore click the button and wait... around two minutes.
- Model 7520 is absent in the Windows Update list, as it's too old
- I have chosen HP Deskjet 5550 HPA, as it has most of options, necessary to print.
- Option to print with 1200 dpi doesn't work for 7550, so even do not try to use it.
- For some reason printer still waits for some data after the printing job is done. Perhaps it's a driver incompatibility. The message "data were not received" appears on printer's screen after few minutes, and printer shows the startup screen again. No manual actions is required.
I didn't find any other disadvantages, so this driver is definitely suitable.
