My printer sounds like it is going to print, then doesnt. It will go back and forth with saying theres an error, to saying its offline.
Then I make sure its my default printer, but still doesnt help. I could walk away for an hour and come back and try again and it will print. However now its not printing at all. Nothing wrong with our wifi.

Welcome to HP support community.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
-
Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
-
If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
-
If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
-
If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
-
If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
-
Try to print.
Assign manual IP address and that should fix the issue.
Check the network configuration or print the wireless test report.
Press the Wireless button and the Information button at the same time.
Setting a Static IP Address
Once you know your printer’s IP address, entering it is pretty easy. Here’s what you do:
- Run your Web browser.
- In the Web browser’s address bar, type the IP address of your printer and press Enter. Assuming you entered the right address, the HP printer control panel should appear.
- Click the Networking tab.
- Under Connections, click Wireless.
- Under IP Address Configuration, click Manual IP.
- Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway in the appropriate boxes.
- Click Apply.

Hello, I am having the same issue with getting my hp deskjet 2652 to print. I have a HP all in one 24 g020 computer. I tried the steps you mentioned to manually enter the ip addresss etc but all those numbers were already entered. the computer and printer are on the same network that I know. I have uninstalled and installed hpsmart and the scan and fix several times. I think the computer recently had some updates but the printer hasn't printed in quite some time. I have unplugged and restarted. every time I do a fix scan it says everything is fine but when I try to print a test page or any other doc to see if it is working I only get a general error message from the computer that it can't print. there is no error code or anything. not sure what to do. thanks for any help you can provide.

Welcome to HP support community.
This might require remote access of the computer to fix the issue.
I request you to talk to HP support.
They might have multiple options to help you with this.
