Just some feedback.  In the 4 + years I have had my HP printer and have been using HP Smart - when an issue occurs the HP Smart App has been able to assist a grand total of ZERO times.  The answer is always the same - can't find the issue.

 

Right now, my printer 'prints' and I can see ink levels.  But I can't scan.  HP Smart says my printer is not turned on - however while saying this HP Smart can somehow print and see my ink levels.  I have tried many solutions presented by chats, confirmed the IP address is correct, used pin to connect, tried HP set-up all over again, but always get the same message that my printer is not turned on.  And of course I have tried turning the printer and computer off and back on.

 

It there a way to use my HP printer without using HP Smart?  If not, I think I'll just throw the printer in the trash and but another brand printer since printer are pretty cheap.

Yes, installing print driver you don't need HP Smart.

Hi, I purchased HP Smart Tank 580. before this i was using Hp deskjet ink advantage 2336. The HP Smart Tank 580 always won't connect. when I click print from my pc, the printer receives the order late like 10 min to 15 min. sometimes it take hours. Only a few times it will print immediate after I click print. when I check in the Hp Smart it will show my printer offline. sometimes it shows online and still won't print immediate. The HP smart takes long time to load pages. So stress using this app and this printer. 😞
