When I try to set up my printer using the app, I select the printer and the app says "Select a Different Printer". Please see below. If the printer isn't on, then HOW is it even being detected? I've spent HOURS trying to figure this out. I'm about to pull out my hair.Install Error.png

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Can you download and install the FULL featured printer software from HP for your operating system:
https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-9010-all-in-one-printer-...


Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

 

This resource will be a good reference:

These tips on the printer usage will be useful.

I was optimistic when you showed your solutions. The drivers were installed like you showed. It went back to HP Smart and I thought this would be it. I thought it would finally connect. Nope, still gives the same error. HP Smart finds the printer but refuses to connect. I basically have a useless printer now, sad to say.

Once the HP FUL software is installed, you can use it to scan or print - no need to use the HP Smart.
