I installed HP Scan and Capture for my All-In-One. I find that the scan time for an image is abysmal (very slow). While this software is a solution. But it definitely is a big step down from HP Solution Center.
I hope someone can get a message to HP that scan and capture is a poor substitute. We no longer have the features HP Solutions gave us with making adjustments on the fly (though some features may be scanner specific - I am using a C310 that has provided me excellent service over the years.

Very Nice features and worth a try...
HP Scan Extended
- Download-Save-Install > HP Scan Extended
- HPSE is a subset an older Full Feature Software suite.
- HPSE features are very similar to the HP Scan Software released after 2015.
- Although HPSE appears to be a separate software, HPSE is dependent on the infrastructure provided by the Full Feature Software. The Full Feature Software for your printer should be installed before installing and using HPSE.
- OPTIONAL: Add HP Scan Extended shortcut to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start
- Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Scan Extended\bin
- Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Pin to Taskbar
- Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Send to Desktop (Create a Shortcut)
- Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Pin to Start
- HP Scan Extended features include (and are not limited to): Single, Multiple scans, Image and PDF scans, Email as PDF / JPEG, Source selection, Page Size choices include Auto-Detect (extracts image / document boundary). Might include OCR (Save as Editable Text).
Example
NOTE: Setup is similar for both Image JPEG and PDF scanning
Some options are model dependent.

Thanks, still cannot get anything working. I am close to abandoning this effort for a different printer. It should not be this hard to get something working that worked up till a day ago. I don't think my printer has the correct TWAIN driver. If it does nothing seems to be able to find it. The IrFanviewer has an HP_TWAIN in it but does not work. I have tried HPScan Extended that does not work. I tried IRFanViewer coupled with HP Scan and capture, that does not work. I really think it is time for HP to step up and fix this issue. I am frustrated and pissed at this point. I liked my HP but I have spent all day and have gotten no where. I do not want to replace it but I am running out of options.

I have a Photosmart D110, and it has an included web interface. So if you find the IP address for the printer on your network, you can go to that address in a browser ( e.g. https://192.168.1.125) and get a web interface that allows you to scan, check ink levels, and do many of the things that the Solution Center allowed you to do.
I don't know which other HP printers have this same built-in feature.

You may need to set up your printer as a TWAIN source if it does not show up in the list of TWAIN sources. I am not sure exactly anymore how that is done since I probably did this a long time ago. But once your printer has been set up as a TWAIN source, then you can select it as a source for scanning in a number of different applications that support scanning.

If you have already uninstalled the HP software can you then reinstall it with this solution? I thought my software corrupted, as I was unaware of the flashplayer timeout. So I uninstalled the hp software then attempted to reinstall a good version or so I thought. I keep blowing up with a windows 8 error, even though I am running window 10. I hope it had to do with a bad flashplayer, So from the sound of this with a working flashplayer I "should" be able to re-install successfully. I hope.

I've had this problem today. As far as I can tell its because Adobe have discontinued flash player as on 1st Jan.
I wonder if that's why? Will HP come up with an alternative and resolution.
Its typical. I literally haven't needed the solution centre for years. The day I decide to use my printer after re-filling the cartridges I find this.
Now I cant run a cartridge cleaning cycle

I am having the exact same issue...need information on my printer cartridges as well as the ability to scan and the like from my desktop. One would think this would have been thought of as a preventative measure for HP users.
