Hi @blaise11,

Please make sure the HP Digital Imaging Monitor is Running as listed under Step 5 below:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02450835

If it was not installed, make sure the full software is reinstalled first, including the HP Digital Imaging Functionality software.

If the issue remains, try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor by selecting Fix Scanning:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

Please let me know its results with much details (or a screenshot would even be better) as possible.

Hi,

Flash Player is retired and no longer working, the HP Solution center software is based on Flash:

https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/end-of-life.html

You may install HP Scan Extended, then open the HP Scan Extended from the Programs menu and you should be able to scan:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

I just tried installing that but when I try to run the program I just get a pop-up that says "The HP Imaging Device was not found".

Using

HP Print and Scan Doctor by selecting Fix Scanning:

I can scan PDF document but it is a  tortuous path

  1. Download and run the Adobe Flash Uninstaller direct from Adobe here (instructions provided on this page how to fully remove Adobe Flash Player) - https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html#main_Download_the_Adobe_...
  2. Restart your computer
  3. Download the second-last version of Adobe Flash Player - v32.0.0.344  (which is the one before the latest version) -  from archive.org - http://archive.org/download/flashplayerarchivedversions2/357/fp_32.0.0.344_archive.zip
(You can't download it direct from Adobe anymore because it's been discontinued)
  4. Extract the ZIP file, and go into the 32_0_0_344 folder (not debug) and run the file flashplayer_32_0r0_344_winax.exe (this is the ActiveX version of Adobe Flash Player which is used by Internet Explorer and is the one used by HP Digital Imaging Monitor).  Be sure to select "Never check for updates (Not recommended)" in the settings that pop-up after installation so that it won't update to the latest version and get disabled again

After point 4:

First message Box:

Adobe Flash Player ActiveX Installer Information

Your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser includes the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player built-in.
Windows Update will inform you when new version of the Flash Player are available.

Second message Box:

Adobe Flash Player
InstallShield Wizard Completed

The Wizard was interrupted before Adobe Flash Player 32 ActiveX could be completely installed.
Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.
Click Finish to exit the wizard.

Sorry  . Windows with F & I is still present

Hi @Alf63,

Another user (@Jim412) has posted a solution that's confirmed to work if you're on Windows 10 - https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/HP-Solution-Center-Not-Working-probably...

Hope this helps!  Good luck!
