Microsoft Windows 11

I am using HP Support Assistant Version: 9.13.85.0, I believe the latest version.  I have installed the Fax driver and latest firmware for my printer (OfficeJet Pro 9022e), which I had to do manually as the Support Assistant just kept timing out, but the HP Support Assistant keeps retaining that they were not installed through it and shows updates are available.  The Support Assistant now does download the updates but the setup application says they are already installed.

How can I get the Support Assistant to accept that manually installed updates are already done?

Can't stand it?

You could also try a "lesser" approach:

Remove the printer from HPSA app > Restart the computer and log in > Open the app and add the printer

Still odd?

Open the HPSA app > Settings > Switch OFF Automatic Updates

Restart the computer and log in

Leave the auto-updates setting off for a while (a day, an hour, as long as you can stand it)

Normally this approach has no impact in printer updates - it is primarily to control the main device (computer).

That said, when nothing else manages to curb the HPSA's enthusiasm, shutting off automatic driver update might help.

Hi Dragon-Fur,

Thanks for the help.  Re-installing the application was ok and seems to have fixed it.  One point - I did elect to remove old devices during the uninstall process.

You should be aware though that the application is not available on Microsoft Store so I downloaded it from:  https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/hp-support-assistant
