Hi @Lela7,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
I understand the printer will not turn on.
Please follow the steps below and see how it goes.
Recycle power to the printer
- Unplug the printer and then reconnect the printer to reset the power module.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
- After the printer has been disconnected for at least 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Plug the power cord directly into the wall outlet.
- Depending on your printer model, use the appropriate steps to start a Power On/Off cycle:
- Printers with a Power button: Press and release the Power button. Do not hold the button down.
- NOTE:
- If you press and hold the Power button too long, the printer might turn on and then off without restarting. If this happens, press and quickly release the Power button again.
- Printers with a Power switch: Press the Power switch to the Off position, and then press it to the On position.
- If the printer does not turn on, wait 10 seconds, and then press the Power button or reset the Power switch again.
Follow the remaining steps from this document here.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @Lela7,
Thanks for your reply. Well, if the power cord does not help then, This might require one on one interaction to fix the issue.

Hi, I purchased (€50!) a new power cord for the printer and it arrived today. It did not work. a little more frustrating is the printer stopped working a month after the warranty expired.
I'm following the steps for HP support that I was sent. However, to have telephone assistance I indeed have to pay an additional €25 to receive the support. I also don't have a HP recognised service centre within 50km radius from my home.
I now have to cancel my HP Instant Ink subscription - which now works out that I have paid more than the option of buying the ink cartridges when and as needed for supply. Not sure I have the stamina to continue figuring out the problem with the printer and prefer just to start from scratch again...

I ALSO bought a new power cord which was unsuccessful. Customer support is unresponsive/nonexistent for an “out of warranty” printer (the printer is only two years old). I cancelled my HP Smart subscription and am throwing the printer away and will not be purchasing another. I cannot risk buying another just to have it randomly shut off to never turn on again after two years. Because I would like to be a loyal customer, I even reached out to see if there were any discount or credit for buying the exact same printer again and turning in the two year old. Attached is the customer service I got. They offered me 5%. I will not be purchasing HP again.

Argh, I feel you. My printer was a year old 😡 It took me a while to research printer options and decide on this particular one which was more than I ideally wanted to spend for a limited use home printer.
I hadn't realised it has now been discontinued and I dread going back to square one looking for another printer (I need one) but having already spent extra money and precious time trying to fix the issue with my little over a year old printer!
Thanks for sharing your experience with me/the community support. I too am looking for a disposal option (I guess a third party will make some $ off spare parts...)

- Reconnect the other end of the power cord to the rear of the printer, and then plug the power cord directly into a working wall outlet. - A power strip or surge protector might not provide enough power for your printer. - Press the Power button. - If the printer does not turn on, check the power supply compatibility.
Regards,
Will
