HP officejet 3833
macOS 10.15 Catalina

My HP Officejet 3833 running with Mac Catalina 10.15 has been printing fine.

All of a sudden today it is freaking out and prints in off green colors and screws up the layout.  Can't even print the alignment report correctly.

Went through the driver removal and re-install.  Did not help.  Re-installed HP Easy scan and it doesn't even connect to the printer.

What is wrong here?

Hi @RCMeeker,

 I'd like to help!

To better assist you -

1) Does the copy print out the same way?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

3)Are the printer and Mac connected to the same network?

4.) Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks.

5.) What is the distance between the router and the printer?

6.) Is there any antivirus software installed on your Mac?

7.) Could you perform a ping test using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results? Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by selecting the wireless icon on the printer display.

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page

  1. Load plain paper into the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  3. Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
