I have bought this printer two yrars ago now it does not work just all light blinks on the printer panel

When all lights blink on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e and the screen goes blank or unresponsive, it usually signals a firmware crash or hardware lockup, often triggered by a failed update, power surge, or internal error.

 

Let’s try a few deeper recovery steps to bring it back to life:

 

Check for Error Codes:

  • Look at the screen or display on the printer panel to see if there are any error messages or codes provided. These messages can guide you to the specific issue affecting the printer.

 

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on. This can reset the printer and clear any temporary errors.

 

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door. Inspect the cartridges to ensure they are installed correctly and there is no debris or obstruction.
  • Remove and reinsert each cartridge to ensure they are seated properly.

 

Print Queue Issues:

  • Ensure there are no pending print jobs in your print queue that might be causing the printer to lock up. You can clear the queue from your computer's print settings.

 

Paper Jam:

  • Check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid damage.

 

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can solve many issues and improve printer functionality.

Factory Reset:

  • If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider performing a factory reset. Note that this will erase any custom settings you have made.
