My HP smart tank 5101 printer is making a weird beeping sound all the sudden. Beforehand whenever I try to complete the setup in the HP smart app. It was never able to complete setup. I was still able to print. However, now I'm not able to.

Hi @Jonnytaco
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 5101 printer is experiencing a frustrating combination of setup and functionality issues, compounded by the beeping sound.
Let’s work through some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this:
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check if the beeping sound persists and if the printer functions normally.
Inspect Ink Tanks and Printheads:
- Open the printer and ensure the ink tanks are properly filled and sealed.
- Check the printheads for any obstructions or improper installation.
- Reinstall the printheads securely and close the printer.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Visit the HP Support page for your printer model and download the latest firmware update.
- Install the update to address any software-related issues.
Reinstall the HP Smart App:
- Uninstall the HP Smart app from your device and reinstall it from the app store.
- Follow the setup instructions carefully to ensure the printer is properly connected.
Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- If the connection is unstable, try reconnecting the printer to the network using the HP Smart app.
Run a Diagnostic Test:
- Many HP printers have a built-in diagnostic tool. Access the printer’s menu and run a test to identify any hardware or software issues.
