Hi @frustrated303,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're facing with your HP printer serial number. I can provide some general suggestions to help you address this issue:

Verify Serial Number: Double-check the serial number you entered to ensure it is correct. Sometimes, typos can lead to such issues.

Online Support Resources: Visit the HP support website and look for online resources related to printer recognition issues.  Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Update Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up-to-date. You can download the latest drivers from the official HP website.

Clear Cache and Cookies: If you're accessing the HP website online, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Sometimes, cached data can cause issues.

Try Another Device: If possible, try accessing the HP website and entering the serial number from a different device to rule out any local issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
