Mac user here. Catalina 10.15.7.
This isn't just effecting use of HP printers on our Macs. I installed the latest driver too and same problems. It's Apple's latest Catalina update: 10.15.7 and its malware detecting software that's part of the update. Apple forums are buzzing with this problem now. The Mac app that controls malware (MRT update v. 1.68) appears to be the culprit. So sayeth the posts on the Apple user forums. And it DOES concern HP framework files. I think they're fine, but Apple's malware app ISN'T and sees them as malware.
I GOT IT TO PRINT. Here's how (temporary fix without removing software or changing their names):
Both of us users on this Mac were trying to print with the same results as mentioned in this thread's first post. Nothing we could do would make it print, even in the printer cue app where it showed "STOPPED" in the cue, and you couldn't restart the print job. Then after installing the latest printer driver, we tried to print again. I dismissed the " "HPDM.framework" will damage your computer" popup 3-4 times and it printed, but only after I had installed that most recent printer driver. The "STOPPED" before the print jobs in the cue wasn't there this time.
FYI: When I logged that user out and I logged in (admin for the Mac), I wasn't even trying to print. As soon as I logged in, " "HPDM.framework" will damage your computer" alert popped up. Every time I dismissed it, it would pop up a few seconds later. Relentless. Now I'm just dragging it to the side and leaving it there. I'm afraid we'll have to wait for the next Catalina update.
This is the second time in a month or so that an update from Apple has caused chaos. The first when I was still on my old Mac using Mojave. Now again on this new Mac with the very latest Catalina update: 10.15.7. Come ON, Apple. Really?

I worked through the steps you suggested....and got back to the same problem.
We have an Envy 4500 which has worked perfectly for a few years, it would be a shame to be forced to buy a new printer/scanner if HP can't give us a solution.
Needless to say we won't be buying a HP printer next time.....

I have an HP Officjet Pro 8600 and have been dealing with this issue all morning. Have tried a myriad of fixes and nothing seems to work. I have been a long-standing HP and Apple fan. Now, I am just a disgruntled and frustrated user. I am sure there will be plenty of finger pointing going forward while the user community just has to sit and wait for someone to actually fix this mess. C'mon HP and Apple, as titans within the computer industry, do you think you could get your s#%& together at some point and cooperate a bit?

See my post just before yours. It’s likely not your printer or printer software. It’s an OS update to Mac’s own malware “protection” app. Just hang tight for their fix. I think it’s to HP’s advantage to work with Apple before they lose their share of the printer business or messes like this even if it is Apple’s issue. .

MacBook Pro 2016, Catalina, HP P2015dn running on an ethernet cable from a wireless router. PC is communicating to the router wirelessly, but printer is on a hard network cable.
Tried your approach of going to the new software, but it cannot find my printer! It doesn't see it as wireless nor as ethernet. It is HP hardware and HP software.
Any thoughts?

I have an HP8600 and followed the advice of Denise 738 and this worked for me:
"I deleted the HPdevicemontoring.framework folder, HPDM.framework folder and matterhorn.framework folder. Basically I deleted each folder that flashed up on my screen. This seem to do the job. Was able to print no problem. I have an HP 8600."

So it IS the Catalina upgrade that's the problem? I just got one, too. Printer worked fine for awhile - then nothing. When tried to install printer again - got the HPDM.framework error message. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ANSWERS YET?
