Did the 5.1 drivers from HP not include something for your printer?

And... which macOS are you running?

I have an HP OfficeJet 5252. All I want to do is scan a document. I have been scanning with this printer for two years. All of a sudden it says - visit 123.hp.com/setup to download HP software. I did that and now all I get is this annoying pop up box that says - HPDM.framework will damage your computer. Great. How do I get rid of it?

The "HPDM.framework" error message prevented certain apps I installed from running.
Here are the steps I used:
1. uninstall HP Easy Start
2. Restart your device
3. Do not reinstall HP Easy Start
I'm still able to print, scan and run apps (e.g. Altstore) that were being prevented from opening in the top right toolbar.

I did absolutely everything the suggested message said and I'm still receiving the "framework will damage your hard drive" or whatever message. And apparently the printer driver for my Deskjet 1050 no longer exists - which is frustrating because it's been an amazing printer and still has life left in it. Do I need to buy a new printer or something?

Greetings!
A few weeks ago I was seeing that annoying:
"HPxyz.framework" will damage your computer
Popup. And I suggested:
Delete: com.hp.devicemonitor.plist from~Library/LaunchAgents
Once you restarted the computer, the dialog msg went away! I was able to continue to print, but now I couldn't scan.
I followed the following support document for my Deskjet 5739 Printer, but it should apply for others.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06960563
The steps are:
Download the UNINSTALLER application. Which removes all traces of, drivers, etc of HP on your system. Reboot.
Follow the support document and download the Software & Drivers app which was updated recently in November. Just to be sure everything was in sync. I rebooted after completing the Software & Drivers installation.
The support document, mentioned above, did FIX this for me.

i'm sure someone has posted this in the 26 or so pages of posts, but thought i'd chime in with what i had to do. Agree with an earlier post, it might be better to switch to Windows or at least a laptop that will run linux.
run the uninstall zip from hp website
remove printer from Settings/printers & scanners
sudo rm -rf /Library/Printers/hp
re-install your printer.
