Another angry customer for HP. Using a Mac with OS12 Monterey I have no colour option for printing from a downloaded file. Why is this basic service not available? Why is HP selling good not fit for purpose? Why are HP not replying to other customers with the same issue?

Hi @Macsimon2
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It seems like you're facing a compatibility issue between your HP printer and macOS Monterey.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:
Check Printer Settings:
- Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners."
- Select your printer and click "Options & Supplies."
- Ensure the correct driver is selected under the "Driver" tab.
Remove and Re-add Printer:
- In "Printers & Scanners," click the minus sign (-) to remove the printer.
- Click the plus sign (+) to add the printer again.
- Select "AirPrint" or the specific HP driver if available.
Update Printer Driver:
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest driver for your printer model.
Reset Printing System:
- In "Printers & Scanners," right-click anywhere in the list of printers and select "Reset Printing System."
- Re-add your printer after the reset.
Check File Format:
- Ensure the file you're trying to print is in a supported format. Some file types may not allow color printing due to compatibility issues.
HP Smart App:
- Download the HP Smart app from the App Store. It provides additional settings and options for your printer.
