Envy Photo 6252
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is sooo frustrating! I have an envy photo 6252 all-in-one printer, and it's working fine...My problem is with the HP Smart App. It's so frustrating in fact that I want to toss my printer AND laptop into a canal! I have windows 10 and when I log into the smart app it ALWAYS says that my printer is offline. I've done numerous uninstalls and reinstalls of my printer and hp smart app, but nothing fixes it. My printer shows as online on every other program like word or even photoshop, and I can print from every other program, but on the one app that's supposed to show the printer as online doesn't. I only use this app to scan, and at times, I am able to scan, while it says offline, but for the most part I can't. Please help me! I have to scan a very important document, and I'm up against the clock! Thank you in advance for anyone's response.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand. Let's create a TCP IP port:

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)

2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right-click the printer and left-click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.

3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.

4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

This video resource will show you how to do it:

Create & Use TCP IP port

Let me know if this helps.

I’m working on fixing it right now.

Now I have a different problem. My printer was showing under two separate devices in devices and printers; print and scan only. When I deleted those to try to install it as one device, it only installed the scan only version. This separation of different printer types I know started in the hp smart app. I don’t know what to do
