Hewelett Printer will not reset

I can not reset my printer. It says enroll printer in HP instant ink and it will not let me print. Does anyone know what I should do?

I do not have instant ink.  My understanding is you need to sign up for the program since you bought that type of printer

You can also cancel out of the program but you must use genuine HP ink cartridges to continue to use the printer if you opt out of instant ink

I read that you must return the unused instant ink cartridges but that applies only if you ever got any and did not use them.

I do not have an instant ink printer. My understanding is that if you run out of ink you can use genuine Hewlett Packard cartridges either original or refilled. They must have an HP chip in the cartridge.
