Hi @BD_4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

The HP Smart Tank 5101 All-in-One Printer does not come with an automatic document feeder (ADF), which is typically required for scanning multiple pages into a single document quickly. However, you can still scan multiple pages and save them as a single file using the HP Smart app. Here's how you can do it:

Scanning Multiple Pages into a Single Document with HP Smart

Install the HP Smart App:

  • Make sure the HP Smart app is installed on your computer or mobile device. You can download it from the HP website or your device’s app store.

Open HP Smart:

  • Launch the HP Smart app and make sure your HP Smart Tank 5101 printer is connected to the app.

Select the "Scan" Option:

  • In the HP Smart app, click on the Scan option.

Scan the First Page:

  • Place the first page of your document on the scanner glass.
  • Adjust the scan settings (like resolution, color mode, etc.) if needed.
  • Click Scan to scan the first page.

Add Additional Pages:

  • After the first page is scanned, you will see an option to Add more pages.
  • Place the next page on the scanner glass and click Add or Scan again.
  • Repeat this process for all the pages you want to include in the document.

Save the Scanned Document:

  • Once all pages are scanned, click on Save.
  • Choose PDF as the file format to ensure all pages are saved in a single file.
  • Name the file and choose the location where you want to save it.

Email the Document:

  • After saving, you can attach the PDF file to an email using your preferred email service.

Tips:

  • Ensure Correct Alignment: Make sure each page is aligned properly on the scanner glass to avoid issues with the scanned document.
  • Use High-Quality Settings: For documents that need to be clear, use higher-resolution settings. However, be mindful that higher resolutions may result in larger file sizes.

Although the HP Smart Tank 5101 lacks an ADF, the HP Smart app allows you to scan multiple pages and combine them into a single PDF file. This process, though manual, will let you scan and share multi-page documents effectively.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
