HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer

I just want to stop the HP Officejet Pro 8620 eAll-in-One Printer from automatically shutting down. The only options available to me are ECO 5 min, 10 min or 15 min shutdown. Is there any way to bypass this? I do NOT have a fax line.

If your HP Officejet Pro 8620 All-in-One printer is automatically shutting down and you want to prevent this behavior, there are a few steps you can try:

Check Power Settings:

  • Press the "Home" button on your printer's control panel.
  • Navigate to "Setup" or "Settings."
  • Look for "Power Management" or similar options.
  • Adjust the power settings to disable any automatic shutdown or sleep modes.

Update Firmware

 

Make sure your printer's firmware and software are up to date. 

 

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to a stable power source. Fluctuations or interruptions in power could trigger the shutdown.
  • Check all cables and connections to ensure they are secure and functioning properly.

 

Perform a power reset on the printer.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
       NOTE: HP Recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

 

If you've tried the above steps and the issue persists, then the printer needs to be checked.
